Area residents get weather whiplash

Clark County residents had a rude awakening Monday morning, going from a week of summerlike weather with record-breaking highs in the low 80s or upper 70s wrapping up last Saturday, to a rainy day Sunday, to a snowstorm Sunday night into Monday that dumped about 10-20 inches of snow on the region, depending on location. Above, the “Welcome to Loyal” sign on the east side of town shows a 55-degree temperature swing in less than 72 hours. Area snowfall totals include: Loyal 18”, Granton 10.5”, Willard 15”, Neillsville 19”, Christie 18”, Owen 17”, Hatfield 16”, Longwood 14”, Colby 12.8”, Dorchester 12”, Spencer 7” and Lublin 23.5”.
