Betty Lou Meschefske

Betty Lou Meschefske, 92, of Marshfield, formerly of Medford, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford, Rev. Daniel Iwinski officiated the service. She will be laid to rest at a later date at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Stetsonville.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Betty was born April 24, 1930 in the town of Goodrich to Albin and Dora (Marschner) Borman. She grew up in Goodrich and graduated from Medford High School, class of 1947. She then attended teacher’s college earning her teaching certificate. She taught at the Washington (one-room) school, which now sits at the Taylor County Fairgrounds.
On June 3, 1950, she married Clyde E. Meschefske in Goodrich. They resided in the town of Deer Creek where they owned and operated a dairy farm. In 1981, Betty and Clyde retired and sold the farm to their son, Randy and his wife, Karen.
Betty was a member of the local homemaker’s club, the Zion Lutheran Mission Circle and the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, vegetable gardening, canning, writing poems, making maple syrup, and most of all, visiting and hosting guests and her family.
She is survived by a son, Randy (Karen) Meschefske of Stetsonville; daughter, Doris (Doug) Beisner of Wausau; six grandchildren, Deb (Cory) Mudgett of Stetsonville, Pete (Heather) Meschefske, Matt (Sheree) Meschefske, all of Wausau, Marc (Cassie) Meschefske of Medford, Megan (Dexter) DePasse, Katelyn Beisner, all of Wausau; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde on Jan. 1, 2003; brothers, Albin Borman in infancy, Ken (Jean) Borman, Glen (Idella) Borman; sisters, Carrie Mae (John) Meschefske and Annabelle Roeber; and a daughter, Debra Sue Meschefske.
