Cadott fans were treated to a home playoff game Oct. 21, as the No. 3 seeded Hornets football program took on No. 6 Ladysmith.
The first-round playoff game began with a touchdown for Cadott, with the extra point good. Cadott scored again in the second quarter, with another touchdown and extra point attempt made, to send the Hornets into halftime with a 14-0 lead.
Cadott scored three more touchdowns in the third quarter, for a commanding 36-0 lead over the Lumberjacks and one in the fourth, before Ladysmith came to life. The Lumberjacks scored two touchdowns as the clock ran down, but by then, it was too late and Cadott came away with the 42-14 victory.
The Hornets ended the game with 351 yards rushing, but 0 yards passing.
The win moves the Hornets onto the next round of WIAA action, pitting them on the road at No. 2 Stratford Oct. 28.
