Archers on target at Augusta, Cadott; Medford shoot is this weekend
NASP ARCHERY
The busy season of competition for local youth archers makes its annual stop at Medford Area Middle School this weekend for the ninth annual Medford Archery Club bullseye and third annual 3-D tournaments.
After being a virtual event last March, the tournament is back to an in-person shoot. In the past the tournament has attracted 300-400 bullseye contestants. Two years ago, there were 161 3-D archers as well.
The event starts with three bullseye flights at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. and two 3-D flights at 6:15 and 7:15 p.m. on Friday. A full day of competition on Saturday includes 10 bullseye flights that start at the top of each hour from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 3-D flights one hour apart that start at 8:15 p.m.
Each 3-D and bullseye archer is entered into a drawing for a Genesis bow, raffles will be available both days with a Traeger grill being one of the top prizes and full concessions will be available all day on Saturday. The awards ceremony is expected to start at about 6:30 p.m.
In recent weeks, archers from both Taylor County programs have been busy.
