Online gardening sessions offered
The Marathon County Public Library and Extension Marathon County are continuing their 12-session gardening series with classes all about crop rotation and creating plant maps. These classes will be held on March 16 from 10-11 a.m. and then repeated again that evening from 6-7 p.m.
During this class, attendees will learn how crop rotation can reduce diseases and pests while improving soil health. They will also learn how to apply their garden plan to their garden map, keeping in mind spacing, heights, and successive, sequential, and crop rotation techniques.
This 12-session gardening series is designed to give beginning gardeners on a budget the skills they need to successfully grow fresh vegetables. Experienced gardeners will also gain new perspectives to add to their toolkit of knowledge.
Classes are held the first and third Wednesday of every month, through Sept. 21. Each course will be offered at 10 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. It is recommended to register and attend all sessions, as the program builds on itself over time, but participants are also welcome to attend single sessions as well. Classes are free, but registration is required. Each class must be registered for individually.
These classes are free and open to the public, with registration required. After registering, you will be emailed a link to access the meeting on Zoom. For questions, email janell.wehr@wisc.edu.
