By Ginna Young
Riding high from a home win the previous week, the Cadott football program headed to Glenwood City Sept. 23, in what would be a blowout in favor of the Hornets.
Neither team scored in the first quarter, but Cadott got on the board in the second with a 31-yard field goal from senior Peter Weir. The Hornets scored again in the third quarter, after a fumble touchdown return by junior Nolan Blum and the extra point good from Weir.
Cadott got another touchdown a few minutes later, after a touchdown pass from senior Tristan Drier to junior Easton Goodman. The extra point was good from Weir and the Hornets were up 17-0.
Drier ran in another touchdown to end the third and the extra point attempt from Weir made it 24-0 in favor of Cadott. A final touchdown was made by Drier in the fourth quarter, with the extra point good.
As time ran out, so did Glenwood City’s hopes to end the shutout and Cadott took the 31-0 victory. The Hornets now improve their conference record to 3-1 and 5-1 overall.
