Chiefs stung by the Hornets

With ominous weather threatening, the Cornell football program hosted Alma Center-Lincoln Sept. 2, in a non-conference match. The Hornets struck first, with a touchdown to open the quarter, They would score twice more in the first quarter, while Cornell ended up with a touchdown from a Daniel Person (junior) rush into the endzone. Senior Dylan Bowe rushed for a two-point conversion, to make the score 22-8, in favor of the Hornets.
The Chiefs defense held the Hornets to just eight points in the second quarter and eight in the third, while scoring two touchdowns in the third quarter – one from a rush of Bowe’s and one from Person rushing into the endzone.
Each team scored a touchdown with the extra point unsuccessful, but the deficit was too big to overcome and the Chiefs fell to the Hornets, 44-28.
Leading for Cornell, was Person, with 31 yards passing and 204 yards rushing, while Bowe ended with 178 yards rushing and 33 yards receiving. Senior Dawson Munson also had 35 yards on rushing.
