Medford’s Rinaldi earns All-Academic honors for UW-W track and field
Victor Rinaldi, a native of Medford and member of the UW-Whitewater track and field program, is one of 14 Warhawks who were named All-Academic by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2022 season.
Victor Rinaldi, Chris Bitz (Brookfield East), David Fassbender (Slinger), Shelvin Garrett II (Beloit Memorial), Justin Krause (Pewaukee), Daustin Martin (Jefferson), Jack McGinn (McFarland), Gunner Schlender (Brillion) and Brayden Zettle (Monroe) earned All-Academic honors as individuals for the men. Fassbender is now a four-year selection, and Bitz, Garrett, Krause, Martin, McGinn, Schlender and Zettle are twotime winners of the award.
Paige Fassbender (Slinger), Gracie Holland (Marshfi eld), Kylie Jacobs (Watertown), Katie McNamara (Geneva, Ill.) and Abigail Missiaen (Muskego) garnered All-Academic accolades on the women’s side. Jacobs is a threetime honoree, and Fassbender, Holland, McNamara and Missiaen have each been named to the list twice.
To be recognized as an All-Academic individual, student-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. They also must have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS.
Both UW-Whitewater teams were also recognized as All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA. The Warhawk men carry a 3.195 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, while the women finished the spring semester with a 3.377 cumulative GPA. Teams must have finished the spring semester with a 3.1 cumulative GPA or higher to earn All-Academic distinction.
