The Marathon County Public Library’s Little Art Exhibit will be on display at the library’s Stratford Branch, located at 213201 Scholar St., from Monday, July 25 until Saturday, Aug. 6. The gallery contains mini works of art created by community members. The Little Art Exhibit is free to attend.
Forage field walk
A Forage Grass Field Walk will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Marshfield Ag Research Station, located at 208356 Drake Avenue in rural Stratford.
The event consists of observing and discussing a forage grass variety trial featuring various perennial grass and legume mixes along with their data and quality data.
Attendees will observe the dairy heifers in the pasture and current research using virtual fence collar technology.
The event is hosted by EP-Stratford PIC (Eau Pleine Partnership for Integrated Conservation) in parnership with Marathon County, University of Wisconsin- Madison Extension and the University of Wisconsin’s Marshfield Agricultural Research Station. Seed for the forage trials was supplied by Short Lane Ag Supply and Eberly Ag Services.
On campus
Andrew Bargender, Elizabeth Folz and Marissa Guldan of Stratford graduated from UW-La Crosse during the college’s 112th annual spring commencement ceremony on May 15.
Bargender earned a bachelor of science degree with highest honors in accountancy, Folz earned a master of sci- ence in therapeutic recreation and Guldan earned a bachelor of science with highest honors in therapeutic recreation.
Aiden Hoffman of Stratford graduated from UW-Platteville in the spring of 2022 with a degree in soil and crop science.
Jacob Drexler, Paul Huther, Jacob Leick, Sarah Martin, Devan Slominski and Delanie Weisenberger of Stratford were all awarded to the UW-Eau Claire dean’s list for the spring 2022 semester.
Lions golf outing
The Stratford Lions Club is hosting its 23rd annual Lions Charity Golf Outing on Sunday, Sept. 11, at Marshfield Country Club.
This event is open to the public and will begin at 10 a.m.
All proceeds raised at the event will be used to fund local Lions organizations.

Story Time
Children and families can sink their teeth into a sharkthemed story time from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20 at the Marathon County Public Library’s Stratford Branch.
Attendees can hear shark stories and make sharkthemed crafts. Story time is free and parents can call the Stratford Library at 715-687-4420 for more information.
Summer reading
Throughout the summer, children can earn free books by participating in the Marathon County Public Library’s (MCPL) Summer Reading Club.
Children can stop by any MCPL location until Wednesday, July 31, to pick up a summer reading review sheet, or track their reading online with the free Beanstack app.
Parents can call the MCPL headquarters in Wausau at 715-261-7220 to gain more information on the children’s summer reading program.
