Brehm, Schnelle podium in two state events

Edgar junior Morgan Schnelle made the WIAA Division 3 state track and field podium in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes this past weekend in La Crosse.

Schnelle took fifth place in the 100-meter dash in 13.10 seconds and third in the 200-meter dash in 26.32 seconds. The top six athletes who place in each state track and field event land on the podium.

The Edgar girls 4x200-meter relay team just missed getting onto the state podium with a seventh-place finish in one minute, 49.35 seconds. Relay team members are juniors Amber Skrzpcak and Morgan Schnelle, along with sophomores Brooke Imhoff and Malana Koehler. Alternates are senior Malia Hoesly and junior Rachel Schneider.

For the Edgar boys, senior Everet Brehm made the state podium in both the long jump with a sixth-place finish with 20 feet, 7-3/4 inches and the triple jump with a fourth-place finish with 44 feet, one inch.

Edgar’s 4x400-meter relay team also made the state podium with a fourthplace finish in three minutes, 29.16 seconds. Relay team members are senior Ayden Weisenberger, junior Avery Normington and sophomores Teegan Streit and Kohlbe Weisenberger. Alternates are sophomore Karter Butt and freshman Jase Apfelbeck The Wildcats 4x200-meter relay squad just missed making the state podium with a seventh-place finish in one minute, 33.72 seconds. Relay team members are Ayden and Kohlbe Weisenberger, Brehm and Normington. Alternates are senior Mattison Butt and Karter Butt.

Aschbrenner podiums

Marathon senior Jenna Aschbrenner made the WiAA Division 3 state tournament podium with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault with 10 feet, three inches. She barely missed also landing on the state podium in the high jump with a seventh-place finish with five feet, two inches.

The Marathon girls 4x100-meter relay team took 10th place in 52.24 seconds. Relay team members are seniors Alexandria Kraimer and Aschbrenner along with juniors Jersey Lobner and Grace Kahon. Alternates are senior Vanessa Krueger and sophomore Alisha Blenker.

The Red Raiders 4x800-meter relay squad placed 15th in 10 minutes, 19.68 seconds. Relay team members are seniors Julianna Thurs, Laci Hoeksema and McKinnley Marks with freshman Shilo Blake. Alternates are junior Emma DeBroux and freshman Calyse Fieri.

For the Marathon boys, senior Michael Kindlarski made the podium in the 110-meter hurdles with a sixthplace finish in 15.95 seconds. Senior Griffin Treankler placed 12th in the 300-meter hurdles in 41.70 seconds. Junior Matthew Annis placed 15th in the 400-meter dash in 52.94 seconds.

Marathon’s 4x400-meter relay team took 13th place in three minutes, 34.55 seconds. Relay team members are juniors Parker Mathwich, Jaron Gage, Annis and Treankler. Alternates are senior Owen Marks and sophomore Andrew Glennon.

Red Raiders junior Drake Carlson made the state podium in all four of his men’s wheelchair events, to earn 23 points for Marathon and help it take third place as a team in the men’s wheelchair division.

Carlson took third place in the men’s 100-meter dash wheelchair in 22.53 seconds; third in the 400-meter dash wheelchair in one minute, 13.03 seconds; third in the men’s shot put wheelchair with 18 feet, 6-3/4 inches and fourth in the men’s 800-meter run wheelchair in two minutes, 35.28 seconds.

Wright breaks record

Stratford senior Jaidyn Wright broke her own school record in the triple jump, with a fourth-place podium finish in the WIAA Division 2 state tournament this past weekend with 36 feet, 1-12 inches.

The Stratford boys 4x400-meter relay team also made the state podium with a fourth-place finish in three minutes, 27.65 seconds. Relay team members are senior Elijah Lucio, junior Conner Weigel, sophomore Noah Lucio and freshman Jett Schoenherr. Alternates are junior Lance Krieg and freshman Garrett Zuelke.

Stratford’s boys 4x800-meter relay squad placed ninth in eight minutes, 20.29 seconds. Relay team members are Elijah and Noah Lucio, Weigel and Zuelke. Alternates are Krieg and freshman Ethan Heeg. Weigel placed 10th in the 400-meter dash in 52.06 seconds.
