The Rib Falls HCE met on May 11 at the home of Gloria Kreager. Refreshments and desserts were served. The Pledge of Allegiance and Creed I, was recited.
Roll call consisted of asking Rib Falls HCE members what is one item on their bucket list? There were six members present with a guest and a guest speaker.
Secretary and treasurer reports were approved as read. Marathon County HCE County Day was held on June 2 at Good Shepherd Church in Wausau. The brat fry was on June 3-4 at Festival Foods in Wausau.
After some discussion, Rib Falls HCE members decided to do away with giving out a Hostess gift each month, starting in June. This was something that was done for many years. April and May Hostess gifts were given out.
The song sung was “Take me out to the Ballgame.” A birthday song was sung to Terri S. as she opened her gift from her secret pal.
Rib Falls HCE members were given a demonstration on how to make all natural handcrafted goat milk soap by Danae Stieglitz from 1906 Farmstead Soaps LLC. All members and guests received a travel size bar of soap. She makes soaps and lotions, and they were available for purchase.
The next Rib Falls HCE meeting will be a noon potluck picnic on Wednesday, July 13, at the home of Judy Baeseman.

Since it is an outdoor event, families need to bring their own personal outdoor supplies such as lawn chairs and blankets, covered strollers, sunscreen, bug spray, water, and any other supplies children will need for an hour outdoors. In case of inclement weather, the outdoor event may be cancelled. Check our website for any updates.
Free and no registration required.
