ABBOTSFORD T RIBUNE PUBLISHED IN ABBOTSFORD THURSDAY, MAY 29, 1952 Marathon-Clark Coop holds annual meet May 21 About 240 members of the Marathon Clark Cooperative Dairy Association attended the annual meeting of organization held at the armory Wednesday evening, May 21.
The meeting was called to order by the president, Ben Riehle.
Alfred V. Hill, certified public accountant was the main speaker of the evening. He pointed out a remarkable improvement in the 151 annual report as compared to 1950. The mortgage, held by the St. Paul Bank for Cooperatives, will be paid up some time this fall. Other speakers were Elmer Brugaink, general manager of Wisconsin Cheese Producers’ Cooperative; Mr. Fromberg, of the American Dairy Association, who gave a talk on advertising; Henry Aderhold, a delegate to the Land O’ Lakes annual meeting, who gave a report on the progress of that organization. W. J. Hoffman, manager, reported that many new, large milk producers are now shipping their milk to the Marathon-Clark plant. County Agent Rogan gave a very interesting talk on cooperatives.
At the business meeting, two new board members, Harold Block and Cletus Schraufnagel, were elected, Lunch and refreshments were served to those attending.
THE TRIBUNE-P HONOGRAPH PUBLISHED IN COLBY THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 1972 Lions Club meets The Lions Club met Monday evening at Medo-Farms restaurant. Plans for the Dairy Days float were made.
The results of the bowling tourney at Wausau were announced. The club placed in team events and two in singles. They were Del Zwirchitz and Roger Thielman. The club recently presented the fire department with a portable stretcher for the ambulance. Special guests at the meeting were the local A.F.S. students Barbara Morschhauser of West Germany and Gerard Lamy of France. They gave brief talks on their homelands and their stay here. Mrs. Myron Greaser, president of the local A.F.S. program, was also a guest and introduced the students.
S.T.A.R. Circle The S.T.A.R. circle met in the Presbyterian Church dining room Wednesday afternoon. The meeting opened with a hymn and devotions. Plans were discussed for helping with the vacation church school and for the Dairy Days banquet on June 3.
Mrs. Lowell Dorn gave the lesson on “Triumph Over Odds” after the benediction. Lunch was served by Mrs. Dorn.
Ambulance calls May 30-Mrs. Donald Ingersoll Green Vista, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
