The Stratford High School fitness center is open from 4:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Monday thru Sunday, but the fitness center is closed from 12:30-1:30 p.m. each weekday for cleaning; it’s not closed an hour on Saturdays and Sundays for cleaning.

Stratford School District residents need to visit the high school office to get their keyfob updated before they'll be able to gain access into the fitness center.

Village yard waste

The village of Stratford streets department workers will pick up curbside collection of residents’ leaves, grass clippings and garden materials on Mondays and Tuesdays, Oct. 25-16 and Nov. 1-2. Village residents must place their yard waste in clear plastic bags to be picked up.

All tree brush and branches must be bundled, not larger than two feet in diameter by eight feet in length, and not heavier than 50 pounds per bundle. Village residents should keep thorny brush in separate bundles not longer than three feet long.

Village residents shouldn’t set their brush out on the curb earlier than 48 hours bfore the yard clean up dates, and property owners are responsible for cleaning up their own yards.

Garbage/recycling

The village of Stratford will contract with Harter’s Fox Valley Disposal for resident garbage and recycling services, beginning on Jan. 1, 2022, after the village’s contract ends with Advanced Disposal.

Much of the garbage and recycling services provided by Harter’s Fox Valley Disposal wil be the same as Advanced Disposal, including special fall and spring cleanup days, the option of purchasing excess garbage stickers and single- stream recycling.

However, village of Stratford residents will no longer have the option of choosing between small, medium or large garbage carts. All residents will now receive a large garbage cart, which is the same size as the current recycling cart.

Village of Stratford officials believe the change in residents having the same size garbage carts will make the entire process easier for garbage collectors, which have fully-automated trucks. Village residents currently have different carts of various sizes, colors and conditions from past disposal companies. New carts for everyone will clean up these eye sores.
