Pharmacy Robber gets prison time

A former-Rib Lake man who robbed a downtown business at gunpoint in May 2020 will spend the next 20 years in the Wisconsin state prison system.

Judge Ann Knox-Bauer on April 14 sentenced Bradley R. Peterson, 45, of Sheboygan to nine years of initial confinement with 11 years of extended supervision. In addition, Peterson must pay restitution of $1,173.71 and is prohibited from entering any bars or taverns or entering the Medford Healthmart Pharmacy or having any contact with those involved with the case.

The sentencing came after Peterson pleaded no contest to an armed robbery, a class C felony in exchange for a charge of manufacturing and delivering narcotics, a class E felony, to be dismissed and read in for sentencing.

On May 15, 2020 at 8:37 a.m. the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call from the Medford Healthmart Pharmacy, located on South Main Street in the city of Medford, reporting that the pharmacy had just been robbed. It was reported that a lone, male subject wearing a mask entered the pharmacy and confronted staff members and demanded narcotics at gunpoint. Staff at the pharmacy cooperated with the male suspect and the male left the store with an undisclosed amount of drugs.

The male suspect got into a black colored SUV and left the area heading northbound on Main Street.

On May 21, 2020 Peterson was arrested by law enforcement from Medford, Taylor County and Rib Lake, when officers from those agencies executed a search warrant at 727 Ella Street in the Village of Rib Lake.
