2022 will be 54th year of entertaining audiences across Wisconsin and beyond. The KIDS are ready to make an explosion all across the state. The curtain opens on July 1st and closes August 20 with over 60 performances of “The BIG BANG BOOM TOUR” This 54th season will feature eclectic fads, explosive dance crazes along with artists and bands that have burst forth onto the music scene and into our psyche.

British Invasions, Swedish bands, Motown, Swing dance and Disney are just some of the influences that have ignited today’s music genres. Music that is both traditional and monumental will get our audiences on their feet.

The Kids From Wisconsin’s BIG BANG BOOM Tour will bring these sensations, and much more, to life in our high-powered two-hour Vegas style production. Join our state’s most talented singers, dancers and instrumentalists in celebrating the World’s most dynamic and impactful music styles and cultures.

This year’s talented Hometown KIDS hail from as far west as River Falls, and as far east as Forestville!

Among the performers on this year’s tour include some area talents.

Cade Shipman of Medford will return on percussion. Shipman is finishing his sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he is pursuing a degree in neuroscience. He has been drumming since the 6th grade and has performed in various shows including the “Little Women,” “The Addams Family,” and “Catch Me If You Can.” He was awarded the John Philip Sousa award of musicianship as a senior in high school and has been performing with the Kids ever since.

Michael Decker of Colby is returning for his third and final year with Kids From Wisconsin as a tenor. In High School, he was involved in numerous musicals and plays. Decker was also a part of his school’s competitive show choir, earning numerous Top Male Vocalist awards, including at FAME Nationals in Orlando. He has also participated in multiple musical theater camps in New York City and Minneapolis. Decker is currently a student at the UW- Madison, studying psychology, and is heavily involved with campus arts. He most recently played the role of J.D. in the university’s production of “Heathers: The Musical.”

Dylan Butler of Athens is excited to join the 2022 Kids From Wisconsin as a trumpet player. He graduated in 2021 from Wausau West High School and next fall, he will be entering his second year at the UW-Eau Claire, majoring in trumpet performance. He has performed with many groups including the Wisconsin State Honors Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra, as well as the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. He currently plays a crucial role in UWEC’s jazz ensembles and concert bands.
