84th annual meeting of JREC membership planned for April 30

Jump River Electric Cooperative (JREC) will be holding its 84th Annual Meeting of its Membership on April 30. As in the past, the annual meeting will be held in the auditorium of the Ladysmith High School. New this year, members can also participate in this meeting from the Hayward outpost, where the annual meeting will be livestreamed. Registration, at both locations, begins at 9:30 a.m. with the business meeting starting at 10 a.m.

Attendees will receive a $25 energy credit (one per membership) and other door prizes, as well the chance to win one of five $100 energy credits and a grand prize of one $500 energy credit. The meeting will include a presentation from Brent Ridge, President and CEO of Dairyland Power Cooperative, JREC’s wholesale provider. Reports will also be given by JREC’s Board Chairman and staff.

Members are being asked to vote for the election of three director seats. Interim General Manager/CEO Mike Schaefer of JREC states, “It may seem trivial to many members, but letting your voice be heard and participating in the annual meeting is so important to the continued success of this organization.”

Voting can be done one of three ways. Prior to the annual meeting, members can cast an electronic or absentee mailin ballot. Members attending the annual meeting, and who have not already voted, can cast a meeting-day ballot prior to the start of the business meeting on April 30. Call the cooperative at 715-532-5524 if you have a question on the different balloting options or deadlines.
