REPORTS Car vs. buggy
Steven Paul Newman, 60, of Gilman, was traveling south on Gilman Dr., on March 15, at 5:45 a.m., in the Town of Aurora. An Amish horse and buggy driven by Andy J. Stutzman, 16, of Gilman, exited the private driveway in front of Newman’s vehicle. Newman collided with the buggy on the roadway. Failure to yield the right of way was a factor in the accident.
Parking lot hit and run
Marlin Scott Raymond, 59, of Rib Lake was leaving the Taylor County Courthouse parking lot on March 15, at 3:06 p.m., in the city of Medford. As Raymond was leaving, he struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle, owned by Whitney B. Wiltse, 31, of Dorchester. Raymond continued to depart from the parking lot after striking Wiltse’s vehicle.
Sliding off roadway
Shane L. Potocnik, 36, of Owen, was traveling north on CTH T, on March 14, at 1:51 p.m., in the town of Maplehurst. Potocnik was approaching the T intersection of CTH A & CTH T, the vehicle slid through the intersection due to the fresh heavy snow and slid into the north ditch, where it rolled onto its side. Failure to control was a factor in the accident.
Pick-up fire
Magen Ann Paul, 25, of Medford, was traveling west on CTH D, in a pick-up truck, on March 10, at 3:40 p.m., in the town of Westboro. Paul heard a tire blow, so she stopped the truck and it was on fire, vehicle burned up completely. Vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
Car flipped over
Lawrence Jesse Thomas, 43, of Menomonie, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 64, on March 12, at 10:18 a.m., in the village of Gilman, when an animal, believed to be a fox, ran across the roadway. Thomas swerved to miss the animal and ran off the roadway into the south ditch. Thomas’ car came to rest overturned facing north. Vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Thomas received a citation for operating while suspended.
Car vs. deer
The following car vs. deer accidents were reported: Karen Jean Milz, 74, of Medford, on March 14, at 8:13 p.m. on CTH E, in the town of Hammel; Donna Mary Murphy, 66, of Hudson, on March 17, at 10:35 a.m., on Hwy 13, in the town of Westboro; Jana Lee Strasburg, 40, of Medford, on March 14, at 6:15 a.m., on CTH Q, in the town of Medford.
