Improvements and changes have been going on in town and this week has shown more progress.
The windows of the new Coast-to-Coast Furniture store are now shining clear, and the results of several weeks of work by Lowell Dorn and Walter Hopperdietzel can be seen in the house. Open house at the new store is being held today, Friday and Saturday on these three evenings until 9:30. Coffee and doughnuts are being served Thursday and Friday afternoons. When you visit the store, just north of the Abby theatre, be sure to register for door prizes. The Abby Theatre has been given a spring freshening. Soft green paint was used on the side walls in the foyer and auditorium of the theatre. Bob Hodd, with the help of John Kiefer, was the decorator.
The soaped windows at the Abbotsford Clothiers indicate that there is remodeling and redecorating in progress there.
Afkend’s I. G. A. Store underwent a complete change in the floor over the weekend. Terralex, a plastic tile, was laid in an eye-catching design in grey and green in the main part of the store, while cork was used behind the check-out counters. R. W. Hartzell did the work.
The branch station of WIGM, with quarters at Emil’s Radio, has a studio in the west end of the basement. The interior is sound proofed with cream ceiling and two shades of buff masonite squares on the walls.
