Bryce A. Hinke
1931-2022
Bryce A. Hinke, 90, of Medford, town of Little Black, died Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2022 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Mar. 16 at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home in Medford. Interment will be at a later date at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Bryce was born Nov. 30, 1931 in Medford to Juda “Jessie” (Boor) and Alfred “Atz” Hinke. He graduated from Dorchester High School.
On Apr. 24, 1951, Bryce married Marlene Schumacher at Dorchester Catholic Church. They farmed in the town of Mayville for 28 years, then sold the farm in 1976 and moved to Little Black where they had resided since. After Bryce retired from farming, he worked part time plowing snow and doing other tasks for the township of Little Black. He also served on the board of directors for Little Black Mutual for many years.
Bryce loved being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and cutting firewood. He also enjoyed playing pool and cheering on all of the Wisconsin sports teams.
He is survived by his son, Ken (Cyndy) Hinke; sisters, Janice and Jackie; grandchildren, Randy (Ginny) Hinke, Mike (Margo) Hinke, Matt Hinke; step-grandchildren, Doug (Kelsey) Meyer, Ben Meyer, Nick Meyer; great-grandchildren, Ava, Hunter and Dallas Hinke; step-great-grandchildren, Kaden and Aniken Maschusak, Ruby Meyer, Michael Strebig, and Owen Meyer; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Judy Jahnke; and his wife, Marlene.
