CRASH REPORTS

The following car vs. deer accidents were reported: William James Scharenbrock, 61, of Gilman, on January 31, at 6:19 a.m., on Hwy 64, in the town of Ford; Kyle Jonathan Ustianowski, 32, of Baraboo, on February 5, at 2:40 p.m., on CTH O, in the town of Hammel; Mark Leon Taylor, 62, of Medford, on February 2, at 12:07 p.m., on CTH M, in the town of Chelsea.

Hunter Riley Wittrig, 20, of Sheldon was traveling eastbound on Hwy 64, in the town of Aurora, on February 4, at 5:38 a.m. Wittrig swerved to avoid hitting multiple deer. He crossed the center line, hit snow on the north shoulder, entered the north ditch and came to rest facing east. Wittrig’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Barbara Anne Cooper, 68, of Medford, was traveling west on Correction Ln., on February 1, at 5:05 p.m., in the town of Medford. Cooper ran off the roadway and into the north ditch. Vehicle made contact with a highline guide wire causing minor damage to the right side. Failure to control vehicle was a factor in the accident.

Catherine Marie Dent, 56, of Wausau, was traveling on Hwy 64, on February 1, at 9:58 p.m., in the town of Maplehurst. An unknown driver of a truck was traveling westbound and drove into Dent’s lane. Unknown truck driver struck Dent’s rear passenger side causing her to enter the ditch. The driver of the truck fled the scene.

Orlando H. Olson, 62, of Withee, was in his truck with a slide off heavy metal box was traveling west on Hwy 64, on January 23, at 2 p.m., in the town of Goodrich. Jason Edward Young, 26, of Athens was traveling in his small car, south on Spring Dr. and approached the intersection of Hwy 64. Young slid through the intersection, due to snow and icy road conditions, into the path of Olson’s truck. The collision occurred in the intersection. Both vehicles went into the north ditch, and the truck rolled onto its side. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Young was issued a citation for failure to yield a right of way.
