Arlyle Marie Mayer, 95, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021.

Visitation and the service will be held at St. Agnes Church in Green Bay on April 29. Private burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Medford on April 30. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Randall (Margaret) Mayer, daughter-in-law Alice (Budzinski) Mayer, Leon (Margaret) Mayer, Patricia (Norbert) Bries, Mary Beth (David) LaHaye, Mark Mayer (significant other, Karenna LaMonica), Paul (Janice) Mayer, Stephen (Eunice) Mayer, Rodney (Patricia) Mayer, and Barbara (Steven) Brown. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Sarah Mayer Gash, Nick (Sheila) Mayer, Zachary (Amy) Mayer, Tony Mayer, John Mayer, Jean-Marie Mayer, Guy (Briana) Mayer, Michelle (Dillon) Nichols, Evan (Jackie) LaHaye, Stephanie LaHaye, Jacob (Sarah) Mayer, Joshua (Lauren) Mayer, Jordyn (Mike) Zirk, Andrea Mayer, Collin (Hilary) Mayer, John Henry Mayer; great-grandchildren, Morgan Mayer-Jochimsen, Aaron Gash, Haddyn Mayer, Kolvin Mayer, Grettyn Mayer, Zoe Mayer, Bennett Nichols, Owen Nichols, Calvin LaHaye, Juliette LaHaye, Peyton Mayer, Macie Mayer, Bauer Mayer, Amiah Mayer, and Sylvia Mayer; her siblings, Vernon Brost, Allen (Joanne) Brost; sisters-in-laws, Inez Brost, Joan (James) Tlusty; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Arlyle was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; infant daughter, Margaret Mary; son, Michael; infant great-granddaughter, Marguerite Marie LaHaye; siblings, Margaret “Peg” (Robert) Tuma, Lambert “Red” (Adeline) Brost, Rita (Bob) Werner, Leroy Brost, Marlene (Robert) Dettmering, Thomas Brost; and sisterin- law, Myrna Brost; brothers-in-law Frank (Louise) Mayer, Henry (Laura) Mayer, George (Christine) Mayer, Charles (Anna) Mayer and sister-in-law Mary (Gerald) Koontz.

A special thank you is extended to the staffs of Woodside Villa and Nursing Home, as well as Unity Hospice for their gentle, sincere, and compassionate care given to Arlyle; and to St. Agnes Parish for their support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Agnes Parish, Holy Family School, Salvatorian Center in New Holstein, Wis., or the Alzheimer’s Association.

She was born the eldest child of Anton “Tony” and Margaret (Enders) Brost on May 11, 1926, in Medford.

Arlyle grew up in Medford, attended Holy Rosary elementary school and graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1944. On July 7, 1945, she married William “Bill” Mayer. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2001. Together they had 11 children.

Arlyle was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for over 50 years. During that time, she taught religious education, was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, the Serra Club and was a faithful member of the church cleaning crew. She was also in the Bellin Joints in Motion Exercise Group where she made many new friends. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, reading, and going to Civic Music Concerts at West High School. Arlyle was an avid Packers fan and season ticket holder after being on the waiting list for 25 years. She was also a proud Packer stockholder.

Arlyle had a way of lighting up a room and was known for her quick wit and unexpected quips. A great sense of humor was necessary with all the chaos of a large family. She enjoyed people, gave great hugs and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and special. Many friends of the family wanted to be a part of her family as adding another plate (or two) to the table was never a problem.
