Ardell J. Emon, 78, Stratford, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

A funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Rev. Burial followed at the parish cemetery on Highway 97 where military rites were performed by VFW Post #6352, Stratford, and serving as pallbearers were Eric Borchardt, Mitchell Guralski, McKale Weichelt, Tony Ehrike, Cory Ehrike and Jeff Ehrike. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Ardell was born on June 10, 1943, in Marshfield, to Irving and Catherine (Geiger) Emon. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1961 and joined the National Guard at the age of 18 and served in the Reserves for five years. He married Patricia Christiansen on Dec. 8, 1999. Ardell was a former owner of the Country Aire bar. He also worked at a wood shaving business, as a gas man at Stratford Co-op and backhoe operator at Peterson Construction in Medford which he retired from.

Ardell enjoyed woodworking, playing sheepshead at Rocky’s Bar on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons in the winter months and traveling/ taking vacations.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; children: Darrell Bohman of N. M., Rick (Pam) Borchardt of Edgar, Angie (Frank) Guralski of Stratford and Amy (Cal) Reno of Pittsville; 10 grandchildren: Eric (Rebecca) Borchardt, Heather (Paul) Gerrits, Beth (Gage) Anderson, Mitchell (Shelby) Guralski, Courtney (McKale) Weichelt, Cammie Reno, Cody Bohman, Chandler Bohman, Maddie Bohman and Dakota Bohman; and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Arlene Emon (Larry Block) of Edgar; brother, Arlan Emon of Edgar; niece, Wendy (Steve) Schallock; and nephews: Tony, Cory and Jeff Ehrike.
