Hope Center hosting free Thanksgiving dinner

Hope Center, a new volunteer-based ministry located at the East Town Mall in Abbotsford, is hosting its very first event on Thursday, Nov. 25, with a free Thanksgiving dinner.

The meal will include turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberries, rolls, pie and more. Food will be served from noon until 1 p.m.

Those interested are asked to call 715-316-4466 to reserve a spot so enough food is available for everyone.

The Hope Center is located in the former home of the Falcon Enterprises Alternative School at 1011 E. Spruce Street, Suite 11, Abbotsford.

“There are many people in our surrounding communities that are struggling (emotionally, physically, spiritually and/or financially),” said Charlotte Haines, one of the volunteers at the center. “Hope Center will provide outreaches, community events, service projects and more. The community can use this space for events of their own.”

Hope Center is debt-free. All donations and/or offerings will be used to further the ability to help people and build relationships.

The center’s first official worship gathering will be on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. A free Christmas concert is also planned for Saturday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m., with music provided by national recording artist Layton Howerton. Tickets are free, but a freewill offering will be accepted for the performer. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

“Our goal is to draw people closer to God and to help others volunteer using their hands and feet to help others,” the Hope Center team wrote.
