The Tribune-Phonograp h Published in C olby Wednesday, december 29, 1993 Homecoming game to decide 3-C Championship The Homecoming game to be played with Spencer Friday night will decide who will take first place in the 3-C Conference. Both contenders, Abbotsford and Spencer, have been undefeated all season. In the games last weekend, Abbotsford downed Auburndale 31 to 12. Much speculation then, is centered around this game which p r omi s e s to be a good one. The Abb otsford high school band will perform in half time ceremonies.

Homecoming festivities will end with the homecoming dance in the high school main room, following the game. The homecoming king, whose identity will remain a secret until the dance, will be chosen by his fellow football players. He will chose the queen who will reign with him.

Beekeepers’ Convention The annual convention of the Wisconsin Beekeepers’ Association will be held at Marathon County Park, Wausau on Oct. 30 and 31.

The annual banquet will be held at the park Tuesday at 6:30. The Wednesday program will include a talk by John Long, Madison. There will also be a discussion on the beekeepers’ state fair exhibit and some pointers on selling honey.

Abby Jaycettes set kids’ party for Halloween Saturday night, Oct. 31, is the date for the annual Children’s Halloween Party in Abbotsford. It will be held at the Abby Elementary gym from 7 to 8 p.m. All ghosts and goblins, pres chool through fourth grade, are invited to an evening of g ames, treats and fun sponsored by the Abbotsford Jaycettes.

The fifth grade class may enter a Carved Pumpkin Contest in which two prizes will be awarded. The students can bring their funny or scary carved pumpkins to Abby Elementary gym by 7 p.m. Saturday evening. All entrants will receive a free ticket to the Jaycees third annual Haunted House, located in the old Christensen sales office on Hwy. 29 East.

For the safety of children walking to the Haunted House, Jaycettes will be stationed as saftey patrol crossing guards at the intersection of Hwys. 29 and 13 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

National VFW leader to visit National VFW Senior Vice Commander- in-Chief Robert Curreio will visit the Colby VFW Post this Thursday, Oct. 29, from 2:45-3:15.
