Larry N. Hartzell
Larry N. Hartzell, 82 of Gilman, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 at Aspirus Medford Hospital. He was born on Jan. 31, 1939 to the late Lowell and Goldene (Nichols) Hartzell. Larry grew up in the area
and graduated from Gilman High. He married Lillian Ingles on Oct. 18, 1958 at the Gilman Presbyterian Church. Larry served in the National Guard for 6 years during which he served one year of active duty.
Larry was a milk hauler for over 40 years. He enjoyed the outdoors which included snowmobiling, boating, and camping. The couple also enjoyed taking many wonderful trips, especially to Alaska.
He loved working in his shop and making firewood. After retiring, he was involved for the next 10 years in various trucking adventures. In his later years he enjoyed many games of Skipbo and Spinner.
Larry’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 62
years, Lillian; four children, Tammy (David) Wojcik of Hannibal, Shane (Dana) Hartzell of Gilman, Robin (Julie) Hartzell of Cadott and April (Jeff) Sauer of Thorp; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dawn (Keith) Clark of Gilman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at the Gilman Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Chromy officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowbrook Cemetery-Gilman. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday all at the funeral home.
