Bonnie L. Ystad, 86, Marshfield, formerly of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, under the compassionate care of Wells Nature View and St. Croix Hospice in Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Pastor Elizabeth Bier officiated, and burial followed in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

Bonnie Lucille Roix was born on Nov. 3, 1934, in the town of Reseburg, rural Clark County, the daughter of Herbert Sr. and Vera (nee Buss) Roix. She received her elementary education at Colby School, attended Owen High School for two years, and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1951. After completing high school, Bonnie attended vocational school in Wisconsin Rapids, earning a degree in accounting. She worked for Pinion & Cooper Accounting in Marshfield before her marriage to Milton L. Ystad on June 4, 1957, in Clinton, Ind. After her marriage, she worked various accounting jobs in the Clark County area until retiring in 1995. She and Milton spent the next eight winters in Texas. After Milton passed away on April 18, 2007, Bonnie continued to reside in Greenwood where she did home care for local residents, and was a foster grandparent at Greenwood Elementary School. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed playing cards and square dancing while her husband was a caller for more than 50 years. Bonnie was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Loyal Circle 8 Square Dancing Club.

She is survived by her children: Dawn (Don) Susa of Spencer, Randy (Carol) Ystad of Neillsville, Russ (Mary) Ystad of Marshfield, and Janis (Jerry) Weigel of Jim Falls; 10 grandchildren: Spencer, Mitchell, Brent, Tyler, Jared, Sayre, Raquel, Matthew, Stacy, and Stefanie; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Crystal (Dale) Thomas of Greenwood, and Dolly (Tom) Krueger of Antigo; one brother: Herbert Jr. (Rita) Roix of Wisconsin Rapids; special friend, Bill Schley; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton; her sister, Jeri; and her brother-in-law, Ronald “Dutch” Schultze, of St. Petersburg, Fla.
