Vavra finishes high for team

The course at Chetek-Weyerhaeuser is hilly, but that didn’t stop lone Cornell-Lake Holcombe varsity cross country runner Carly Vavra from bringing in a strong performance. During the challenging course, Vavra passed three or four girls with only a mile to go.

The senior finished 23rd out of 163 entries, ending with a time of 26:48.

“She had a good run,” said coach Greg “Cookie” Anderson.
