CCL staying busy in Sept.
Recent results of an interest survey have led to the following offerings at the Colby Community Library (CCL). A reminder that masks are required for ages 5 and up upon entering the building and must remain on for the duration of the event.
The CCL Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. The book to be discussed will be “Fountains of Silence” by Ruta Sepetys, chosen by member Lisa Brill.
Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m., will be the next meeting. The book choice, by Lee Kaschinska, will be “We Were the Lucky Ones” by Georgia Hunter. If you missed the sign-ups and would like to join, contact the library. Currently, there is not enough interest in a daytime book club.
Adult Craft and Hobby Night will be Friday, Sept. 17, beginning at 5 p.m. This is an evening to work on individual projects or to help brainstorm for upcoming service projects; this is not a class night. Participants are asked to bring their own food and drink; sharable treats are not welcome at this time. Adult Craft and Hobby Nights will be the third Friday of each month.
Babysitter totes, for those wanting to host mini story times in their own homes or day care institutions, and curriculum crates (for home school or classroom teachers) are available. If you did not fill out an interest survey and would like these monthly services, contact the library for more information. At this time, not enough children are signed up for onsite story times at the CCL.
Each month, a variety of Take and Make Crafts are available. The kits are seasonal in nature, and are recommended for youth from pre-school to elementary age. Crafts are limited to one kit per child per visit.
Upcoming celebration
October is National Friends of Libraries Month. If you have a new, unopened board game that is not of interest to you, consider regifting it to the CCL. In October, the CCL is hosting a Jeopardy game, all month long, to celebrate National Friends of Libraries Month. The CCL will have the answer; you provide the correct question for a chance to win a variety of games, puzzles, and gamethemed fleece blankets.
