Trenton J. Glidden, 19, Medford, died as a result of injuries sustained in a one vehicle crash on August 23 at 12:30 p.m. on Pinewood Drive near 140th Ave. in the town of Taft. The vehicle was owned by David Smoczyk, Thorp. The vehicle operated by Glidden was traveling east on Pinewood Dr. when it lost control on the gravel roadway. The vehicle slid off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree against the driver’s door. Vehicle came to rest off the left side of the roadway.

Hunter Ried, 20, Medford, died as a result of injuries sustained in a one vehicle crash on August 21 at 9:27 p.m. on CTH M near Sailor Creek Rd. in the town of Grover. Ried was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Elijah M. Zastrow, 17, Marathon City. Zastrow and an additional passenger, Tucker Broeske, 19, of Dorchester were transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for treatment. Zastrow’s vehicle was eastbound on CTH M going downhill and negotiating a left curve approaching the intersection with Sailor Creek Rd. at approximately 9:27 p.m. A passenger reported the vehicle was traveling approximately 100 mph and was operating left of center. The driver tried to slow down. The vehicle left the roadway on the eastbound side and went into the ditch striking a few trees and rolled coming to rest overturned onto the passenger side. The driver and front passenger were transported to the hospital via ambulance with suspected minor injuries. The rear passenger was transported to the hospital via ambulance with suspected serious injuries. He was subsequently transported to Aspirus Wausau and succumbed to injuries at approximately 4:31 a.m. Zastrow was issued citations for unreasonable and imprudent speed, operating left of center and failure to keep vehicle under control.

A parked vehicle owned by Jennifer Gorichs, 48, Medford was parked at fuel pump No. 1 at the Cenex gas station at 340 S. 8th St. on August 24 at 12:12 p.m. The onduty gas station attendant was pumping the fuel while the driver remained in the vehicle. A vehicle owned by Jane E. Mathews, 78, of Medford, pulled up behind the Gorichs vehicle, not stopping in time and bumping into the rear of the vehicle. There was damage to the rear bumper. Vehicles owned by Beverly E. Zuleger, 81, of Medford, and Mary Rachel Botticelli-Clark, 61, of Westboro, both parked in the parking lot of the Medford Post Office at 120 W. Broadway Ave., Medford at 2:49 p.m. on August 25. The Zuleger vehicle was parked across an aisle from the Botticelli-Clark vehicle. Both drivers were backing out of their parking spaces at the same time. Both units came into contact with each other. There was damage to the right rear of the Zuleger vehicle and the left rear of the Botticelli-Clark vehicle.

A vehicle driven by Beth Kuenne, 77, of Stetsonville, was proceeding south through the Walmart Parking Lot when a vehicle driven by Marlene Johnson, 73, Ogema, was merging into the main traffic lane from the parking lot on August 27 at 10:54 a.m. The Johnson vehicle did not yield the right of way to the Kuenne vehicle and struck it causing damage to both vehicles. According to the crash report, Johnson stated she did not see the Kuenne vehicle before pulling into the lane. Minor damage was reported for the right middle and right rear of the Kuenne vehicle and to the left front corner and front of the Johnson vehicle.

A vehicle drive by Allison Paul, 16, Medford, was stopped at the intersection of CTH Q and CTH O facing south on August 18 at 2:54 p.m. Paul made a right turn while another vehicle was turning onto CTH Q. Paul did not see a vehicle operated by Brook Meyer, 17, Medford traveling west on CTH O. Meyer’s vehicle struck Paul’s vehicle on CTH O. Minor damage was reported for both vehicles.

A John Deere tractor operated by Peter Henrichs, 86, Medford, was traveling eastbound on Allman Ave. on August 14 at 2:35 p.m. and signaled to make a left turn onto Oak Ridge Drive. A motorcycle driven by Laurie Rightmire, 66, Medford, was traveling eastbound behind Henrichs and began to overtake the tractor on the left. Henrichs began to turn left and Rightmire struck the front driver side tire of the tractor. Rightmire’s motorcycle overturned and came to a rest in the roadway. Rightmire was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital with suspected injuries.

The following deer-related accidents were reported: Kailey Miller, 16, Medford, on August 18 at 5:04 a.m.; on Hwy 64 near Howard Rd. in the town of Hammel; William Zawacki, 42, Medford, on August 22 at 8:28 p.m. on CTH O near Gibson St. in city of Medford; Xiaoying Wiitala, 36, Rib Lake, on August 24 at 9 p.m. on Hwy 102 near Wellington Dr. in the town of Rib Lake; Angela Juedes, 40, Medford, on August 25 at 6:05 a.m. on Grahl Dr. near Center Ave in the town of Browning.
