Betty J. Mueller, 84, of Colby, formerly of Medford, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021 at the Marshfield Medical Center.

school. She then took a Kindergarten teaching positon with the Medford Public School District for 30 plus years, until her retirement. She married Larry R. Mueller on June 27, 1959 in her home town of Chili; he preceded her in death in 2012.

In retirement, Betty stayed involved by volunteering in the Medford Elementary, helped out when asked in classrooms and workroom, as well as being part of the Medford Reads and Foster Grandparent programs. She helped at her church with vacation bible school and teaching Sunday school and catechism.

Betty is survived by her children, Allan (Joyce) Mueller of Medford, Dave (Colleen) Mueller of Stevens Point, and John Mueller of Medford; five grandchildren; Adam (Emily), Sarah (Hunter Buehler), Alexandria, Chelsea, and Cody (Michelle); six greatgrandchildren, Liesel, Amelia, Eva, Otto, Molly, and Greta; sister, Arla Mae (Louis) Zuelsdorff of Neenah. She is further survived by other family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Diane; brother, Marvin Radue; and sister, Mary Ellen Nemec.

For online condolences, please visit hemerfuneralservice.com Funeral services for Betty will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28 at Trinity Lutheran Church, W5334 Dassow Ave., Medford, with Pastor Ralph Shorey III officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, Aug. 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church from 4 p.m. until the time of a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Betty was born in Marshfield on Mar. 31, 1937 to Martin and Myrtle (Zophi) Radue. She attended Marshfield Area Public Schools prior to attending Wisconsin State College-Stevens Point, where she earned her bachelor’s degree and teacher certification and later her master’s degree in education.
