Julie Jean Lindekugel was born on April 21, 1953, in Marshfield, the daughter of Dale O. and Janice E. (nee Alexander) Lindekugel. She was raised and received her education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 1971. After high school, Julie attended Mid-State Technical College in Marshfield, and completed the medical assistant certification course. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Charles D. Loos, on Oct. 21, 1972, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Julie worked at the Marshfield Clinic for a few years and then began working at Land O’ Lakes in Spencer. In 1982, they purchased and operated Charlie’s Place in Loyal, until 1990. Julie continued working at Land O’ Lakes for almost 30 years as a lab technician until retiring in 2015. Julie was a devoted daughter, faithful wife of almost 49 glorious years, a loving and caring mother who was always there to listen, a grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren, a true and dedicated friend, and a very supportive person of her community and especially to her church. There she had taught CCD while being known as “Grandma Julie” to the children, was an active member of the P.C.C.W., served on St. Anthony Fall Festival Committee, and used her gifted talent of decorating to make all feel welcome in the church. Julie’s smile and personality lit up any room. She was a beautiful soul. Julie will be remembered as a daughter who was always there for her mother. Going on evening rides to see the beautiful countryside with the love of her life. The phone calls every day with her daughters to catch up on life, and tell her how much we loved her, and Race Mom and #1 fan to #44. Spending time at her adoring grandchildren’s school events and sports. She adored her grandchildren so much that she would even go above her children for the happiness of her grandchildren. How she made Christmas so extra special by making everyone’s favorite food, all the stocking stuffers, and presents with so much meaning. “Girl’s Day,” working at the races with her granddaughters, annual summer vacation to Hayward, and going to the root beer stand and watching movies with her youngest grandsons. Her beautiful flowers, immaculate lawn where she would spend hours mowing, playing cards with their “Special Card Club” till the early hours of the morning with many laughs and some fairly large pots, hosting gatherings with family and friends at “The Shop”, and get-togethers with her retired classmates.

She will be dearly missed by her husband Charles, of Loyal; her daughters: Tara (Christopher) Scheel of Loyal and their children, Tyne, Cesyn and Tryn; Trisha (Jeff) Palmer of Stratford and their children, Devyn and Kenidi; her son: Jared (Kim) Loos of Loyal and their children, Hunter and Corbin; her mother: Janice Niemi of Loyal; one brother: Jeff (Maureen) Lindekugel of Marshfield; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Julie was preceded in death by her father, Dale Lindekugel in 1995, and her stepfather, Allan Niemi, in 2016.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.

We may never understand the reason why Julie was taken from us so soon and sudden. But one thing we know for sure is she’s an angel in heaven flying high carrying out her duties with compassion just as she did down here on earth.
