LETTER TO THE LETTER TO THE

E DITOR Let’s pick up our trash, make Abby look better

To the editor: I walk my dog Tigger (the official litter dog) every day and bring a couple empty bags with us to pick up trash. Every day I fill at least two bags of trash.

On a short walk, this is what I picked up (see picture). It’s sad that people do not have more respect for our community. I urge all residents to pick up trash around their homes and businesses, and if you’re out for a walk, bring a empty bag and help clean up our community.

Let’s take pride in where we live and make Abbotsford a warm and welcoming place to live and visit. We have such beautiful parks, such as Red Arrow Park. The basketball courts seems to be the place to dump empty water bottles, sport drinks bottles and fast food wrappers, in one day I filled two bags.

You are given the privilege of using these facilities, at least respect them. There are several trash receptacles in the park to place your trash in. Please use them.

I also am looking for volunteers to help me at the police and fire station. The gardens are overgrown with weeds and need some beautification. I’m looking for businesses to donate dirt, fall plants and wood chips. It would be great to get some hostas to put around the trees, and some birdhouses to hang. They have a nice sitting bench in front and would be great to have someone donate two big pots to put on each side and fill with flowers.

Let’s show the first responders how much we appreciate them and their work place.

So if you can volunteer and/or donate any items mentioned above, I will coordinate the program. Please contact Diane at 262-224-7381. Thank you.
