Former Spencer man pleads guilty to two homicide charges
A 23-year old former Spencer man will be sentenced soon in Marathon County Circuit Court after entering guilty pleas to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
Brandon D. Noll entered those pleas on May 25 in front of Judge Michael Moran. He was first charged in April 2020 in the deaths of Michael L. Stone and William R. Stone, both of Stratford. They were killed on April 7, 2020, in the Marathon County town of Cleveland and Noll was charged with the crimes the following day.
Noll is currently in custody in the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, where hs is serving a 4-year prison sentence for first-degree recklessly endangering safety. That sentence was handed down in Wood County in February, and the charge is connected to the Stone homicides. Marathon County Sheriff’s deputies first responded to a report of a stabbing and a high-speed chase involving Noll ensued. That chase ended in Marshfield, which is in Wood County.
At a May 25 court hearing, Moran accepted the guilty pleas and dismissed and read-in two counts of driving/ operating a vehicle without consent and one count of fleeing/eluding an officer.
A June 11 conference call has been set to schedule Noll’s sentencing date on the homicide charges.
