The days of having a college on College street in Medford may be numbered.

When Northcentral Technical College president Lori Weyers looks to the future, she envisions an educational hub with NTC leasing a new building near the campus of Medford Area Senior High School. Such a facility will allow for greater cooperation and integration between the high school and college and allow the college to work closely with businesses such as Memorial Health Center, which is close to the school campus.

In a phone interview Tuesday, Weyers said she and school district administrator Pat Sullivan have begun talking about the concept of a shared campus, but there is a long way to go before it is finalized. Both the Medford school board and NTC’s board would have to approve any plan.

West Superior, Wis., May 18—[Special]— There are upwards of 2,500,000 feet of logs floating about the head of the lake and waters of Superior and Allouez bays. In addition to the 3,000,000 feet which escaped Thursday night by the breaking of the Nemadji Boom company’s boom, 1,500,000 of which found their way out into Lake Superior and the balance of which lodged in the inland waters, the tug Bennett reports the loss of 800,000 feet in a raft which went to pieces during the storm just outside the natural entry.
