Loyal girls grab second place at Gilman, fourth at Stratford
The Loyal girls track and field team took second while the boys finished in third at a meet held at Gilman on May 4. The girls had several first-place finishes from among their individual athletes and relay teams while the boys had many of their athletes place mid-pack at the invite.
The Greyhound girls had three individuals take first place at Gilman. Savannah Schley won two events, taking first in the 800m run (2:37.15) and in the 400m dash (1:01.61). Abrial Kubista leapt a distance of 30β6.25β in the triple jump for her first-place finish and Alyssia Zvolena took first in the high jump with her jump of 4β10β.

The Greyhound girls had two relay teams run at Gilman, with both teams placing first. Abrial Kubista, Miranda Trade, Sheila Tellock and Leah Scherer ran the 4X200m relay (2:00.54) and the 4X100m relay (56.04) was completed by Aubre Robida, Sheila Tellock, Shailsha Buchanan and Alyssia Zvolena.
For the boys, Connor Genteman was the only individual to take first place in an event, winning the 3200m run with a time of 12:01.23. The Greyhound boys also had one relay team take first place. The 4X100m relay team of David Nikolai, Kaden Olson, Jaden Ruggles and Sully Hanson completed the race in 49.78.

The Loyal girls finished with 158.5 points at Gilman, taking second place behind Colby, who won the invite with 167 points. Other teams competing at Gilman were Gilman (92), Spencer (64), Cadott (46.5), Lake Holcombe (29), Bruce (20), and Owen-Withee (7).
The Loyal boys took third place with 84 points, finishing behind Cadott (99) and Colby (171). Also placing at Gilman were Owen-Withee (65.5), Lake Holcombe (63), Gilman (63), Spencer (62.5) and Bruce (40).
A few days after competing at Gilman, the Loyal track team traveled to Stratford for competition, facing several larger schools. For the girls, Savannah Schley was the only individual to take first in an event, winning the 400m dash with her time of 1:02.31.

The Loyal girls also had two relay teams, with both teams placing first. The 4X100m relay (54.04) was ran by Aubre Robida, Sheila Tellock, Leah Scherer and Alyssia Zvolena and the 4X200m relay (1:58.26) was completed by Abiral Kubista, Miranda Trade, Sheila Tellock and Leah Scherer.
The Loyal boys had a smaller pool of athletes finish in the top eighth at Stratford. The boys also had one relay team compete at the invite, with the 4X100m relay team of David Nikolai, Kaden Olson, Jaden Ruggles and Sully Hanson completing in 50.32 for fourth.

The Loyal girls placed fourth at Stratford, earning 102 points. Also competing at the invite were Pittsville (33), Stratford (51), Athens (65), Auburndale (109), Edgar (125), and Colby (155).
For the boys, the team earned 40 points to place eighth. Other teams placing were Owen-Withee (43), Pittsville (49), Athens (49), Stratford (99), Auburndale (102), Colby (124) and Edgar (146).
