The Colby boys dominated the competition in Gilman, topping Cadott 171 to 99. The Colby girls had to work a little harder for the win, but finished with 167 points to Loyal’s 158.5 points.

The girls kicked off the proceedings with a first place finish in the 4x800-meter relay. Daisy Feiten, Willow Oehmichen, Reagan Schraufnagel and Mercedes Sarkkinen won the relay in 11:31.95.

Trinity Severson and Hayden Willner continue to form a potent combo in the hurdles, with Severson taking second in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.57 and Willner collecting third in 17.60.

The girls nearly swept the 1,600-meter run. Reagan Schraugnagel and Payton Roth went one and two, in 6:32.9 and 7:01.33. Senior Hanna Meier placed fifth in 7:42.03. Kaylee Podevels, Olivia Krause, Anna Kroll and Elizabeth Winters were third in the 4x200-meter in 2:10.67.

Willner took fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:07.44. The 4x100-meter team of Jazmyn Heeg, Emma Kroll, Podevels and Krause took second in 57.85. Severson dominated the 300-meter hurdles, taking first in 50.52 seconds.

Schraufnagel ran to a fourth place finish in the 800-meter in 2:537.73. Willner and Heeg were second and fourth in the 200-meter dash in 28.64 and 29.06. Feiten and Oehmichen swept the 3,200-meter run. Oehmichen won it in 13:22.60 and Feiten was second in 13:46.34.

The girls were runner-ups in the 4x400meter relay in 4:46.08. The names of the participants were not available.

Lydia Decker placed third in the high jump with a height of 4-02.00. Oehmichen and Sarkkinen were fourth and fifth in the pole vault with an identical height of 6-06.00. Willner and Severson were a powerful combo in the long jump. Willner was second in 14-00.75. Severson was third in 12-08.25.

Senior Katrina Gosse led the way for Colby’s throwers, placing fourth in the discus with a distance of 73-10, and then lost the tie-breaker in the shot put, taking second with a throw of 29-08.

The Colby boys track team started their day by winning the 4x800-meter relay by over thirty seconds, and never looked back. Chase Oehmichen, Richard Streveler, Talon Severson and Max Adams took the relay in a time of 10:03.52 for ten points, and that lead grew with each passing event.

Jay Irzarry and Ivan Haemer went second and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 20.71 and 22.29 seconds. Caden Healy captured the 100-meter dash in 11.61 seconds. Brent Jeske was right behind, earning fourth in 11.99 seconds.

Oehmichen collected first place in the 1,600-meter run in 4:50.13. Adams and Streveler finished fifth and sixth in the same race in 5:53.63 and 5:57.17.

The 4x200-meter relay of Seth Hopperdietzel, Caden Kleparski, Joseph Streveler and Haemer was third in 1:51.22. Brody Decker was seventh in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.75. The 4x100-meter team of Irzarry, Hopperdietzel, Kleparski and Erik Martinez was third in 52.31.

Oehmichen won the 800-meter by over ten seconds as he tore through the field in a time of 2:08.04. Carter Roth finished eighth in the same race in 2:40.60.

Healy defeated all challengers in the 200-meter dash with his time of 23.90. Jeske’s time of 25.43 earned him fourth.

TalonSeversonracedtosecondplacein the 3,200-meter run in 12:06.15. Brayden Boyer, in a fit of absolute madness, chose to run the 3,200-meter race as well. Boyer, who is an offensive lineman on the Hornets football team, placed fourth out of four runners in 18:38.14 - a personal best, and good for five points.

Colby was fourth in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:25.11. The names of the participants were not available. Chase Oehmichen and Brody Decker took the top two spots in the pole vault. Oehmichen won with a height of 10-00.00. Decker was runner- up with his height of 9-06.00.

Healy made it a hat-trick of titles when he won the long jump by over two feet with his distance of 18-03.00. Derek Jeske and Boyer racked up points for Colby as Derek placed second in the discus in 9701 and Boyer was sixth in 81-07.

Brent Jeske and Cory Steen put their strength to good use in the shot put. Jeske won with a throw of 40 feet, and Steen was second in 37-05.50.

Stratford Invite

Multiple Hornets finished inside the top five at the Stratford Invite on Thursday. The girls won the invite, and the boys took second behind Edgar.

Hayden Willner took third in the 200-meter dash in 28.32 second. Mercedes Sarkkinen was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:12.97.

Willow Oehmichen, Sarkkinen and Daisy Feiten went second, fourth and fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:38.95, 2:49.61 and 2:50.64. Oehmichen and Feiten finished first and fourth in the 1,600-meter run in times of 5:59.93 and 6:15.98.

Reagan Schraufnagel and Payton Roth went second and third in the 3,200-meter run in 14:00.87 and 14:52.67. Trinity Severson and Hayden Willner were second and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.39 and 17.79 seconds.

Severson was again victorious in the 300-meter hurdles, taking the event in 50.45 seconds. Colby finished fourth in the 4x100 and 4x200-meter relays in 58.96 and 2:06.61. They won the 4x400-meter relay and placed third in the 4x800-meter relay. The names of the participants were not available.

Kaylee Podevels is back to peak form in the high jump. The 2019 state qualifier in the same event was first on Thursday with a height of 4-8.00. Olivia Krause was fourth and Lydia Decker was fifth in identical heights of 4-00.

Willner was fourth in the long jump in 14-7. Katrina Gosse continues to lead Colby in the throwing events, taking second in the shot put 29-10 and fifth in the discus 81-2. Malayna Rieck was fifth in the shot with a throw of 27-11.5

The Colby boys put on a show on Thursday, facing off against an athletic Edgar team that returns multiple state qualifiers.

Caden Healy was second in the 100-meter dash in 11.99 seconds and Brent Jeske was fifth in 12.27 seconds. Healy added first in the 200-meter dash in 24.05, and Jeske took fifth in 24.85.

Carter Roth was fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.50. Chase Oehmichen took first in the 800-meter run in 2:05.34. Oehmichen added first in the 3,200-meter run in 10:41.40. Max Adams placed third and Richard Streveler was fourth in times of 12:08.34 and 12:34.88.

Jay Irzarry went fourth in the 110-meter hurdlesin20.81seconds.Colby earned points in all four relay events, taking seventh in the 4x100-meter in 56.80, fifth in the 4x200-meter in 1:50.60, fourth in the 4x400-meter in 1:50.60 and second in the 4x800-meter in 10:36.54. The names of the participants were not available.

Healy was second in the long-jump with a new personal best leap of 19-9. Two Hornets placed inside the top five in the pole vault. Oehmichen was third with a season best of 11-0. Seth Hopperdietzel was fifth in 8-6.

Brent Jeske finished second in the discus in 125-9. Brayden Boyer, having recovered from his strenuous 3,200-meter run, was fourth in shot put in 37-3.5.

Colby and Marathon went toe-to-toe in Abbotsford on Monday for the second time this season. The girls got the best of the Red Raiders, winning the meet 175 to 166.5, but the boys narrowly lost to Marathon 203.5 to 185.5.

Caden Healy took first in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 11.34 seconds. Brent Jeske and Mason Voss were third and fourth in 11.87 and 12.16 both season bests for Jeske and Voss.

Healy, Voss and Jeske nearly repeated the same finish in the 200-meter dash. Healy was first in a time of 23.21, Voss was third in 24.35 and Jeske fourth in 24.54. All three ran new personal bests.

Talon Severson won the 800-meter dash in of 2:36.91. Chase Oehmichen won the 1,600-meter run in 4:48.93 Severson and Richard Streveler were fourth and fifth in the 1,600-meter, running the one mile event in 5:33.26 and 5:46.13, both new PRs.

Oehmichen took the 3,200-meter race in 10:46.92. Jay Irzarry and Ivan Haemer were third and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 19.77 and 21.83 seconds. Irzarry added third place in the 300-meter hurdles in 57.42, a new PR.

The 4x200-meter relay of Healy, Irzarry, Haemer and Seth Hopperdietzel was second in 1:47.12. Max Adams, Parker Johnson, Richard Streveler and Brandon Voelker took third in the 4x400-meter in 4:51.14. Adams, Johnson, Roth and Josiah Bridger went third in the 4x800-meter relay in their time of 11:25.55.

Brent Jeske and Cory Steen went second and third in the shot put with throws of 40-4.50 and 39-4.00. Jeske as second in the discus in 123-04. Oehmichen was fourth in the pole vault at ten feet. Healy recorded another PR when he leapt 20 feet in the long jump for first. Irzarry was fifth with his distance of 16-06.25. Voelker was fifth in the triple jump in 32-10.

Girls

Hayden Willner won the 200-meter dash in her time of 27.20 seconds, a new PR for the speedy sophomore. Willner added a title in the 400-meter to her haul with her winning time of 1:04.22.

Trinity Severson, Lydia Decker and Mercedes Sarkkinen followed, taking second, third and fourth in 1:05.11, 1:12.72 and 1:14.26. Sarkkinen and Reagan Schraufnagel went fourth and fifth in the 800-meters in 2:48.04 and 3:00.23.

Willow Oehmichen won the 1,600-meters in 5:58.95. Daisy Feiten was third in 6:17.93. Oehmichen and Feiten also finished first and third in the 3,200-meters in 13:11.84 and 13:49.16.

Colby picked up another first and third in the 100-meter hurdles when Willner won it in 16.75 and Severson in third in 17.29. Severson added second in the 300-meter hurdles in 50.21.

Schraufnagel, Payton Roth, Sarkkinen and Feiten won the 4x800 in 12:26.83. Katrina Gosse and Malayna Rieck went fourth and fifth in the shot put in 29-10.5 and 28-11.25. Rieck was third in the discus in 95-10.

Lydia Decker and Kaylee Podevels took first and second in the high jump with identical leaps of 4-06. Oehmichen went fourth in the pole vault in 7-06. Severson and Willner were second and third in the long jump in 14-11 and 13-07.25.
