The Granton girls saw some improvements over the course of the past week as the team competed in two meets, one in Stratford on May 3 and another on May 6 in Neillsville. Between the two meets, the girls had some top finishes individually and were able to place third as a team at Neillsville.

On May 3, the Bulldogs competed at Stratford, with one member of the team taking first place in an event. Ashlee Piskow placed first in the 3200m run, running a 14:59.51. The girls also had a 4X800m relay team, composed of Faustina Thomas, Alexis Pongratz, Oliva Piskow and Ashlee Piskow, which placed second with their time of 13:00.02.

Individual results for the girls are as follows: Ashlee Piskow, 3rd, 1600m run, 6:51.63; Dolorosa Thomas, 3rd, 300m hurdles, 1:02.15, 6th, 100m dash, 15.67; Faustina Thomas, 3rd, 400m dash, 1:10.78; Olivia Piskow, 5th, shot put, 25’4”; Lizzy Reinart, 8th, discus, 55’10”, Alexis Pongratz, 8th, 800m run, 3:10.72.

The Bulldogs earned 45 points at Stratford, taking sixth place. Other teams competing at the invite were Neuman Catholic (146), Rib Lake (106), Stratford (105), Assumption (68) and Columbus Catholic (59).

Granton focused more on individual events at the Neillsville invite on May 6, with the team taking home four first-place finishes. Ashlee Piskow won the 1600m run (6:36.6), the 800m run (2:55.4) and the 3200m run (14.52). Faustina Thomas also took first place in an event, running a 1:16.5 in the 400m dash for her placing.

Individual results for the girls are as follows: Faustina Thomas, 6th, 200m dash, 31.9; Dolorosa Thomas, 2nd, 300m hurdles, 1:00.8, 8th, long jump, 12’; Olivia Piskow, 3rd, shot put, 25’11.5”, 4th, discus, 65’1.5”, 6th, 800m run, 3:20.3; Alexis Pongratz, 3rd, 800m run, 3:07.8; Lizzy Reinart, 6th, discus, 54’8”.

The Bulldog girls finished in third place at Neillsville with 40 points. Also competing on May 6 were Neillsville (102.5), Columbus (69), Greenwood (36) and Osseo-Fairchild (29.5).
