Kristine Schwalbach
Kristine Ann (Pinter) Schwalbach, 54, of Marshfield, passed away on Thursday, Feb.18,2021,atherhomewithherfavorite cat, Patches, on her lap, surrounded by her loving family, and under the care of Ascension at Home Hospice.
Kristi was born on November 26, 1966, in Marshfield, to Gerald & Ruby (Dietsche) Pinter. She graduated as salutatorian of the graduation class of 1985 at Abbotsford High School. She graduated from UW-Madison in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. On July 22, 1989, she married James Schwalbach Jr. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford.
Kristi began her teaching career at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Marshfield. She also taught at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Stratford. She took a break from teaching when her children were little to open an in home daycare, called Kristi’s Country Childcare. In 2006, she returned to teaching and was currently employed as a fourth grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School, Marshfield.
She loved spending time with her family & friends camping and riding horses. Her love of her horses led her to become a 4-H leader for many years where she spent countless hours teaching young riders all about horses. She also had a love for dogs and cats. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading books, putting puzzles together, and playing board games with family and friends. She was also a member of Saint John’s Catholic Church and loved singing in the choir. The most important thing in her life was her grandson, Oakley, who she loved to spend time with. She is survived by her loving husband, James Schwalbach Jr.; her daughter, Katelyn (Calvin) Haas, Thorp - their son/grandson Oakley, and son David Schwalbach, LaCrosse; her mother, Ruby Pinter, Marshfield; brother Mike (Camille) Pinter, Rogers, Minn.; sisters Pam (Dave) Peloquin, Eau Claire and Teri (Rick) Cherney, Marshfield; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Pinter and a sister Connie, in infancy.
A private family service will be held. Memorials may be sent to the family for a continuing education scholarship to be established in Kristi’s name. Please mark ‘scholarship’ on the envelope and address to 113623 Derry Road, Marshfield, WI 54449.
