A vehicle owned by Rain M. Sperl, 16, Medford, and an unknown vehicle were involved in an accident on January 23 at 10:20 a.m. in the parking lot at Dollar Tree, 217 N. Eighth St. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, an unknown vehicle was backing out of a parking space when it struck the legally-parked Sperl vehicle. The unknown vehicle then left the scene,
Zachary J. Annala, 22, Rib Lake, was involved in an accident on January 18 at 6:32 a.m. on Upjohn Road in the village of Rib Lake. According to the accident report, the Annala vehicle was southbound on Upjohn Road when the vehicle began to slide on the hard snow-packed and icy roadway. The vehicle entered the ditch and struck a tree. The vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner, right side front, left front corner and left side front. It was towed from the scene. Weather and road surface conditions and speeding too fast for conditions by Annala were listed in the report as factors in the accident.
but Sperl was able provide law enforcement with the license plate number of the vehicle. There was no visible damage to the Sperl vehicle.
Lawrence R. Schreiner, 17, Rib Lake, was involved in an accident on January 19 at 5:40 p.m. on Fayette Avenue in the village of Rib Lake. According to the accident report, the Schreiner vehicle was eastbound on Fayette Avenue when the driver lost control due to snow and ice on the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at 774 Fayette Avenue. Road surface and weather conditions were listed in the report as factors in the accident.
Patricia A. Crane, 61, Medford, was involved in an accident on January 21 at 11:24 a.m. on Perkinstown Avenue in the town of Hammel. According to the accident report, the Crane vehicle was eastbound on Perkinstown Avenue when it came over a hill and struck a road grader which was westbound on Perkinstown Avenue. The grader had its blade down and was going around a mailbox on the side of the roadway. The grader blade was in the eastbound lane of traffic. The roadway measured 21 feet 8 inches across and the grader and blade covered 14 feet 9 inches of the roadway. Crane sustained possible injuries but was not transported for medical treatment.There was disabling damage to the entire Crane vehicle.
The following deer-related accidents were reported: Donna J. Webster, 46, Medford, on January 18 at 5:40 a.m. on CTH DD in the town of Holway.
Timothy J. Laabs, 59, Lublin, on January 21 at 11 p.m. on CTH F in the town of Roosevelt.
Brian K. Moberg, 18, Medford, and Ashley M. Wolfert, 23, Medford, were involved in an accident on January 18 at 3:51 p.m. on Allman Avenue in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Moberg vehicle was eastbound on Allman Avenue. The Wolfert vehicle exited a driveway to proceed west on Allman Avenue and crossed over into the eastbound lane of traffi c. The driver of Moberg vehicle swerved to avoid the collision and the vehicle entered the south ditch. The driver of the Wolfert vehicle returned to the scene after observing the Moberg vehicle enter the ditch. Wolfert said she crossed into the eastbound lane and at first did not see the Moberg vehicle. The Moberg vehicle sustained damage to the right front corner and right side front. It was towed from the scene. There was no damage to the Wolfert vehicle. Failing to yield the right-ofway and looked but did not see by Wolfert were listed in the report as factors in the accident. She was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
