Donald R. Hartman

1940-2020

Donald R. Hartman, age 79, of Medford, passed away on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at Marshfield Medical Center. A Celebration of Life gathering for Donald Hartman will be held at a later date. Don was born in Medford on Dec. 23, 1940, to the late Raymond and Mary Margaret (Haenel) Hartman. He attended high school in Medford and later served in the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis in Fort Lewis, Wash. He was married to Glenna Nowak in 1960, she passed away in 1977. He married Diann Jensen on June 15, 1985, she survives.

Don was employed at Silberman’s, Medford Coop, and Jessic Construction before retiring from Goessl Construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing pool and cards, camping, and wrenching on cars in his garage. Don cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Diann Hartman, of Medford; five children, Darren (Sandy) Hartman, Michele Malo, Ginelle Hartman, Brad (Megan) Hartman, and Skyler (KayLeigh) Hartman; two sisters, Barbara (Bob) Gonnering, and Nancy (Jamie) Doberstein; and five grandchildren, Easton, Keegan, Maverick, Bonnie and Rachel. Don is further survived by several great-grandchildren; extended family members; and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Margaret; his daughter, Doreen; his brother, Dick; and his sister, Ruth Ann.
