Ray Hendricks

1935-2020

Ray V. Hendricks, 85, of Stanley passed away surrounded by family under the care of Hope Hospice. He was born in Holcombe on Nov. 19, 1935 to the late George and Esther (Kincaid) Hendricks. He attended Gilman area schools and went on to serve his country in the United States Army after the Korean conflict. Ray was married to Jean Madison on Nov. 28, 1959 at the Cornell Presbyterian Church.

Ray was an Artificial Inseminator Technician for 37 years and farmed in the Gilman area for 20 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 359 in Gilman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren and friends.

Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean; his son, Rodney (Sandy) Hendricks of Gilman; four grandchildren, Matt Hendricks, Joshua Hendricks, Eric (Debbie) Pogodzinski, and Sarah (Nick Diny) Hendricks; three great-grandchildren, Makinley, Brighton and Kensley; and one sister, Elsie Bartlet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ed, Bill, Richard, and Harold White; and his sisters, Betty, Loretta, Velma and Lucille Anders.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at the Gilman Funeral Home with Randy Vandeloo officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in the Hannibal Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior on Saturday.
