Rickey Koehler

1947-2020

Rickey L. Koehler, age 73, of Abbotsford, passed away on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital due to Covid-19. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Rickey was born on Aug. 27, 1947, the son of Edgar and Dorothy (Wragge) Koehler in Pierce, NE. He graduated from Abbotsford High School. Rickey served in the U. S. Army stationed in Korea from 1966-68. On Feb. 20, 1971, Rickey was united in marriage to Janice Leichtman.

Rickey was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, and sitting in the backyard watching the birds drinking his PBR. Rickey also enjoyed helping during maple syrup season. Most importantly, he cherished his family.

Rickey is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice; two children, Glen Koehler of Abbotsford and Carrie (Charles) Peterson of Medford; two grandchildren, Bronson Peterson and Caitlyn Koehler. He is further survived by his brother, Garry (Connie) Koehler of Marshfield; and his sister, Diann (Larry) Empey of Colby; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
