James Reynolds
James “Jim” H. Reynolds, age 95, of Dorchester, passed away in Medford surrounded by his loving family, under the tender care of Hope Hospice at his daughter, Maggie Gebauer’s, home on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020.
A Mass of Christian burial, presided by Father Timothy Oudenhoven, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester for immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family and friends can watch the service live on the funeral home’s Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is entrusted with the arrangements.
Jim was born on September 28, 1925, the son of Fred and Mary (Stetzel) Reynolds in Marshfield. He attended St. Louis Sister School until the 8th grade, then went to work at his father’s cheese factory. On July 1, 1950, Jim was united in marriage to Leora Oehler at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.
Jim worked 20 years at his father’s cheese factory before taking over. He then sold to his brother, Jerry, and farmed for the next 30 years. After his retirement, he started a tool sharpening business.
Jim enjoyed fishing, model steam engines, traveling with Leora, playing the piano, and especially enjoyed being with his family. Jim is survived by his wife of 70 years, Leora; five children: Nancy (Bill) Leichtnam of Nekoosa, Maggie Gebauer (Steve Budzinski), John (Lori Janko) Reynolds and James (Diann) Reynolds ,all of Medford and Joseph (Christine) Reynolds of Colby; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren and four step-greatgrandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Mary Ann Meyer, a brother, Thomas Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Alvin, Frederick, Jerome and Theodore Reynolds; three sisters: Violet Rajewski, Grace Wetterau, and Gladys Zettler; and a son-in-law, Lex Gebauer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given either to St. Louis Catholic Church or Hope Hospice.
