A son, Sawyer James Wilson, was born on Dec. 12, 2020, at Marshfield Medical Center to James and Ashley Wilson of Athens.
Sawyer James weighed eight pounds and he was 20-1/2 inches long. He joins a sister, Sophia, 2-1/2. Grandparents are Butch and Brenda Schreiner of Athens and Russ and Katie Wilson of DeSoto.
Great-grandparents are Mary Schuld of Brookfield, George and Connie Schuld of Great Bend, Kan., and LaVilla Wilson of Hales Corners.
Senior Citizens
The Senior Citizens card group met on April 15 for weekly card playing at the Athens Area Fire and Ambulance Hall. Two games of Sheepshead was played. Andy Klockziem won the first game and Ceil Frank took second place. Wil Strack won the second game and Pat Frank placed second. Bitsy Ewan received low score.
Newcomers are encouraged to come play Sheepshead every Thursday from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Athens fire hall.
COVID dashboard
Athens Public Schools reported no positive cases of COVID- 19 as of April 19 out of 450 staff and students.
Forty staff and students have tested positve for COVID- 19 since Oct. 15, 2020.
Book Club
People are welcome to stop into the Marathon County Branch Athens Library anytime in April to pick up the April Book of the Month, along with a set of questions to get thinking about Lawrence Wright’s 2020 novel.
