As part of Earth Week with the Lake Holcombe FFA, a food drive is taking place to collect non-perishable items for the local food pantry. The middle and high school classes are having a contest, to see which class can collect the most donations, with the winner receiving an ice cream party.
Items for the food pantry can be delivered to classrooms, April 21-25. Needed by the food pantry, are canned soups; canned fruit and vegetables; canned tuna and chicken; spaghetti sauces and noodles; cake and brownie mixes; boxed macaroni and cheese; cookies and snack treats; and juices.
Also needed, are paper products, such as facial tissues, paper towels, napkins and toilet paper; toothpaste and toothbrushes; and used paper bags.
“Those you know may have a need, would you be willing to help them, by giving to the local food pantry?” asked FFA adviser Kent Dorney.
