It’s a scream in the hollow this October

Each summer, Chippewa Valley Musical Festival grounds are filled with laughing, happy people, but this fall, they’ll be filled with screams. Back for its second year, the Screamin’ Hollow Haunted Trail is ready to scare the living daylights out of those who dare to enter the woods.
Held Friday, Oct. 25, Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27, from 6-10 p.m., the trail came about after festival coordinators saw the huge success a smaller trail had at Rock Fest.
“Our woods, located near the north campground, has the perfect intimate space for it and it provides another great opportunity to get involved with the local community,” said Beth Kotewa, venue manager.
The 3/4-mile trail offers a variety of scares, provided by local students and adults in costume, and at the end of the trek, a hay wagon takes participants back to the starting area, where there are food trucks, hot beverages, a bonfire, music and photo ops.
“This event is 100 percent outdoors, so dress for the weather, including appropriate walking shoes for the mulched woods path,” said Kotewa.
There are scares for all ages, based on an individual’s scare tolerance and children must be accompanied by an adult. People are encouraged to get their tickets ahead of time, as the three-night event is expected to sell out.
Tickets can be purchased in advance, at festvalleyevents. com. More scarers are also needed; to sign up, email morgan@ countryfest.com.
Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Cadott Senior Class 2025 Lock-in, which gives kids a safe and fun place to go after the graduation ceremony.
“We are excited to partner with them to make this event one to remember,” said Kotewa.
