New bus company will take over Lake Holcombe routes New bus company will take over Lake Holcombe routes

Chippewa Yellow Bus Company Inc. and the Lake Holcombe School bus division, after 118 years of service, to Wisconsin communities, has decided it is time to retire. With no heirs inline to take over the school bus business, they have made the difficult decision to turn over the reins.

GO Riteway Transportation Group is the future owner of the Chippewa Yellow Bus/Lake Holcombe Bus. They are a Wisconsin family-owned and operated company, that has provided school transportation service for 67 years, with strong ties in the communities that they serve.

They currently serve some 45 school districts throughout Wisconsin. With this move, the Lake Holcombe School District will not see any change in service or personnel.

“Shelly Lee will still be the face and voice of our local bus service,” said district administrator Kurt Lindau.

The family members at Chippewa Yellow Bus will remain with the new company for a period, to assure a smooth transition. The Lake Holcombe facility will remain in the same location. All drivers, phone numbers and addresses will remain the same.

The planned date for the transition is on, or around, Nov. 1.

“We look forward to working with another professionally run organization, that has a goal of expanding their scope of business in northern Wisconsin,” said Lindau. “Welcome, GO Riteway.”
