Just look for the tower to support veteran car show

By Ginna Young

In it’s inaugural year, the Keystone Tower Car Show looks to raise money for veterans in the community and to have fun while doing it. The event takes place Saturday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on property at 21905 County Hwy. E in Cornell.

The show is the work of resident Randy Sippy, who is coordinating the event, even though this is all new to him.

“He’s having his first ever car show,” said Randy’s wife, Marijean Sippy.

All car/trucks makes and models are welcome to attend, for a small fee, and there will be food for purchase, music and fun for all ages. People’s Choices trophies will also be handed out for the top cars, voted on by the public.

The Sippys are hoping to make the car show an annual happening and are proud to show off the windmill that lends it’s name to the event on their Keystone property.

“We went with the tower, because he and I both have this fetish about windmills,” said Marijean. “We got them everywhere.”

If anyone wishes to volunteer at the event or donate toward it, they can contact Randy, at 715-519-0652.

He wants the money raised from the show to stay local, so he’ll work with the American Legion and other veteran groups, to ensure it goes where it’s needed. Helping out those who’ve served their country, past and present, is important to both the Sippys, as they have many family members who’ve served over the years.

“We appreciate any veteran, for the simple fact that we can’t do it,” said Marijean. “They can be on the top of the highest pedestal for me.”
