Neillsville man arrested after garage fire

A man was arrested after he admitted to setting fire to an object inside a garage that went up in flames in Neillsville.

Christian Doss, 41, was arrested Friday and is being held on charges that include second-degree reckless endangering safety, among others.

On Thursday, Feb. 13, at 11:30 p.m., Neillsville EMS responded to a garage fire at 300 Park St., Neillsville. When they arrived, the unattached garage was fully engulfed in flames. Law enforcement interviewed the people living at the home, which included Doss. Doss admitted to setting fire to an object inside the garage and leaving it unattended, according to a Feb. 14 press release from the Neillsville Police Department.

“As a result of the investigation, Doss was arrested at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Feb. 14. He was subsequently booked into the Clark County Jail,” Police Chief Jim Mankowski wrote in the press release.

The other charges Doss is being held on include disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse enhancer, criminal damage to property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
