Various school board, city council positions up for reelection
The next election will take place Tuesday, April 1, with various local officials appearing on the ballot. So far, there is only one contested race among the communities of Granton, Greenwood, Loyal and Spencer.
Incumbents not seeking reelection have until Dec. 27 at 5 p.m. to file a notification of noncandidacy. Incumbents seeking reelection, along with any new candidates, have until Jan. 7 at 5 p.m. to file nomination papers, declarations of candidacy and campaign registration statements. People interested in running for office should check with their local municipal office regarding open hours for turning in paperwork.
The following are the candidates for school board and city council in our local communities, as of Monday, Dec. 16.
